Majlis expresses concern over civilians killings in Kashmir
Srinagar, September 03: In Srinagar, the Majlis-e-Ittehad-e- Millat has expressed serious concern over the recent killings and use of brute force on innocent Kashmiri people by Indian troops.
The Majlis-e-Ittehad-e-Millat in an extraordinary meeting, held here with Grand Mufti, Mufti Bashiruddin in chair, termed the killing of youth and harassing the innocent people particularly women in their houses by troops, as the worst kind of human rights violations.
The Grand Mufti on the occasion also appealed the people to avoid artificial food shortage, price hike and other immoral activities. The participants of the meeting also stressed the Kashmiri people to maintain brotherhood and harmony in their ranks. He urged India to accept the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir and take positive steps for its settlement.
The meeting also appealed the people to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with austerity. The meeting was attended among others by Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir, Sheikh Muhammad Hassan, Professor Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Kamli, Maulana Noor Ahmad Tarali, Abdur Rehman Bhatt, Maulana Ali Akbar, Maulana Professor Syed Muhammad Yasin, Dr Yousaf-ul-Umar, Ghulam Ali Gulzar, Advocate Sheikh Ali Muhammad and Ghulam Ahmad Gujri.
