Kashmiri trade team to arrive on June 1

Mirpur, May 15: A 20-member trade delegation from Srinagar is reaching Islamabad on June 1 on a week-long visit of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The trip aims to promote ongoing weekly exchange of trade between both sides of the Line of Control (LoC). Federation of Jammu and Kashmir Chambers of Commerce & Industry, (FJKCCI) President, Zulfiqar Abbasi told APP on Thursday that Srinagar-based Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Dr Mubeen Shah, Abdul Hameed Punjabi and Jammu-based Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Ram Sahie will lead the delegation. The delegation would attend a two-day conference in Islamabad on June 1 and 2.

Abbasi said that the objective of holding conference was to promote the trans-LoC trade between IOK and AJK, besides to make it meaningful through moving its proposals to the governments of India and Pakistan.

Abbasi said the ceremony of formal launching of FJKCCI in AJK will also be held during visit of the delegation from Srinagar and the schedule of the ceremony will be announced soon, he added.

He also added that IOK delegation would also visit Muzaffarabad and Mirpur to hold meetings with the representatives of the business community of AJK.
