APHC to make significant announcement on May 21

Srinagar, May 9:  In Srinagar, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has criticized that despite India’s tall claims of being a democratic country its troops are continuously engaged in genocide in Kashmir to suppress Kashmiris’ liberation struggle and reiterated that Kashmir struggle would be taken to its logical end.
A Hurriyat delegation led by Mirwaiz visited to express solidarity with the bereaved family members of Bashir Ahmed Sofiwho was crushed by an army vehicle on Friday in Pampore. Addressing mourners, Mirwaiz said, “Sacrifices rendered by the youth like Sofi won’t go in a vain and movement would be taken to its logical end come what may.”
He accused pro-India politicians of acting like stooges of New Delhi. “Kashmiris are facing immense hardships due to these people as their only aim is to safeguard their chair at any cost.”
“Were youth like Bashir Ahmad have given their precious lives then the movement will definitely reach to its logical conclusion,” adding, “The worst form of state terrorism in Kashmir where its naïve people are subjected to third degree torture at the hands of Indian forces for the sins which they have never committed and is done at the behest of Indian political stooges - whose only ambition is to safeguard their chair or to achieve it by all foul means”.

Mirwaiz urged to strengthen the inter-sect unity and fight the oppression peacefully. “Hurriyat will announce an important decision on May 21,” said Mirwaiz.
Mirwaiz also expressed serious concern over the continued house arrest of Hurriyet leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Zaffar Akbar Bhat and Nayeem Ahmed Khan.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Muslim Khawateen Markaz, Mass Movement, Mahaz-e-Azadi and Democratic Political Movement in their separate statements also paid rich tributes to Bashir Ahmed Sofi and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.
